The Camp
A welcoming and congenial ambiance, combined with attentive and personalized service, creates a homely feel at Camp Xakanaxa Botswana. The sophisticated main structures span the Khwai River, elevated on platforms to optimize the views of the nearby lagoons and islands. The refined lounge and dining areas, crafted from local wood, reed, and thatch, include a modest library, spacious sundeck, plunge pool, and a sala with a daybed. The fire deck extends over the Khwai River, offering a captivating setting for post-dinner relaxation. Additionally, there is a larger pool with an elevated sun deck in the extensive grounds.
Accommodation
The Camp Xakanaxa Botswana hosts twenty-four visitors in eleven expansive all-canvas, traditional Meru-style deluxe safari tents and one two-bedroom family tent, each featuring en suite showers, hand basins, and toilet facilities. Positioned around the edge of the lagoon, each tent includes a private observation deck with cozy loungers. Camp Xakanaxa is among the rare camps in Botswana that still retains the essence of a traditional tented camp.
Activities and Wildlife
The ancient woodlands, expansive grasslands, winding waterways, and seasonal floodplains encircling the camp create a diverse environment teeming with remarkable wildlife and plant life. The Camp Xakanaxa Botswana is one of the few that offers year-round land and water game-viewing adventures, using open 4×4 safari vehicles or motorboats. The varied landscapes ensure frequent sightings of Elephants, Buffaloes, Hyenas, Giraffes, Hippos, Wildebeests, Kudus, Lechwes, Lions, and Leopards, among many other species. Birdwatching is extraordinary, particularly in the spring and summer when migratory birds are nesting.

GUIDED SAFARI EXCURSIONS – Morning and afternoon explorations to delve into the diverse ecosystems of the Moremi Game Reserve.
MOTORBOAT EXPEDITIONS – Guided journeys through the deep channels and lagoons of the Okavango Delta aboard sturdy aluminum boats. Equipped with plush seating, retractable canvas roofs, and life jackets.
BIRDWATCHING – Birding is especially breathtaking during the breeding seasons of spring and summer.
