OVERVIEW
Muzimu Tented Camp, the inaugural venture of The Gorongosa Collection, offers a luxurious and exclusive safari experience along the banks of the Muzikadzi River in Gorongosa National Park. With only six guest tents, this intimate camp provides a full, premium traditional safari experience, featuring walking, driving, and boating excursions. Guests will also engage with the Gorongosa Restoration Project, participating in one of the world’s most remarkable wildlife restoration stories.
EAST AFRICAN STYLE CANVAS CHALETS
Muzimu Tented Camp boasts six spacious East African style canvas chalets, each equipped with an en-suite bathroom and a generous deck to ensure guests enjoy seclusion and privacy. Chalets are furnished with either king-size extra length or twin beds, mosquito screens, tea and coffee-making facilities, ceiling fans, safes, and international outlets.

COMMUNAL DINING AREA AND OUTSIDE DECK WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS
Meals are served in a communal dining area with an outside deck that offers breathtaking panoramic views. The camp’s culinary team crafts gourmet dishes from scratch, using fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible. Special dietary needs are accommodated upon request. The full-board pricing package includes all meals, local house drinks, beverages, drinking water, tea, and coffee, allowing guests to enjoy the wilderness without worrying about extra costs.
GUIDED SAFARI DRIVES
Qualified safari guides lead open game drives, exploring diverse habitats, wildlife, and birdlife. Guests can marvel at floodplains, mystical fever tree and palm forests, and various resident wildlife, including antelope, primates, and birdlife. With some luck, encounters with lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, and crocodiles are possible.
WALKING SAFARIS
Experience Gorongosa’s wilderness on foot with guided bush walks. These walks offer close encounters with botanical wonders, animal signs, tracks, and paths, providing a deep connection with nature.
BOAT SAFARIS
Explore Lake Urema, the heart of Gorongosa, home to massive crocodiles, pods of honking hippos, and diverse aquatic birdlife. A boat safari is the sole way to access this expansive water wilderness.
CONSERVATION
Discover Gorongosa’s unique conservation approach at the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Lab, a modern scientific facility in the national park. It provides long-term research and training in biodiversity documentation, ecology, and conservation biology. The lab’s work guides restoration efforts in Gorongosa and other protected areas in Mozambique.
COMMUNITY VISITS
